Clark County native to be inducted into Newspaper Hall of Fame COLUMBIA, Mo. -- A Clark County native will be inducted into the Missouri Press Association's Newspaper Hall of Fame on Friday during the association's annual convention and trade show in St. Louis. Jim Robertson of Wyaconda was managing editor of the Columbia Daily Tribune from 1987 until his retirement in 2017, a release by the association says. During his career, he served as the 2015 Missouri Press Association president and was a founding president of the Missouri Sunshine Coalition. He currently serves on both the Missouri Press Service and Missouri Press Foundation boards. The release says Robertson graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and began his newspaper career in 1977 as a reporter and editor for the Chariton Courier in Keytesville and the Kingdom Daily News in Fulton, Mo. He joined the Columbia Daily Tribune staff on the copy desk in 1981. Other 2018 inductees are the late former Joplin Globe sports editor Wendell Redden; former newspaper publisher and Missouri Press Association editor Kent Ford; and former association president and Mexico Ledger publisher Joe May.
